Bad Honnef – Rhöndorf on the Rhine is a good trailhead to discover the Siebengebirge, hiking trails take you to Mount Breiberg and farther up into the nature park. It is a charming town on the Rhine.
The regional trains stop at Rhöndorf station and the tram line 66 Bad Honnef – Siegburg stops nearby. From there you follow Löwenburgstraße, direction Ziepchensplatz at the crossing Löwenburgstraße/Drachenfelsstraße. You keep on Löwenburger Straße. On the right, you see Konrad-Adenauer-Straße, named after former chancellor Dr. Konrad Adenauer. You can make a little detour to his former residence. Today the Bundeskanzler-Adenauer-Haus Foundation is based there.
Löwenburgstraße continues right into the woods of the Nature Park Siebengebirge. Fonsbach creek flows on the left side. Finally, you get to a fork in the road: Löwenburgstraße takes you to a cemetery in the woods, Waldfriedhof, and the forest path takes you right into the Nature Park to Mount Breiberg and further up towards Mount Löwenburg.
