Mount Rosenau stands in the middle of the Siebengebirge between the mountains Nonnenstromberg and Ölberg. Coming on the hiking trail that goes all around Mount Ölberg (Ölbergringweg), a path leads to the Rosenau with the ruin of a small medieval castle. You will see the signpost “Aufstieg zur Rosenau”, ascent to Rosenau.
Mount Ölberg (468 m) is the highest mountain in the Siebengebirge. When you come by car over the A3 Autobahn (freeway, interstate) or over the Kennedy bridge in Bonn, you see it already from far.
I love Mount Lohrberg, Siebengebirge. Just walk along the loop hiking trail, sit down on a bench and enjoy the fantastic views. If you have come to rekindle with nature and enjoy great views, you will certainly love Mount Lohrberg, too.
Climbing Mount Geisberg in the Siebengebirge is worth your efforts, the view of the Ölberg and the Rhine rewards you.
The Ofenkaulen are a tunnel system, former underground tuff quarries in the Siebengebirge. Today, they are a winter quarters for bats. When you are halfway up the L 331 motorway that leads from Königswinter to Ittenbach you see the driveway to Mount Petersberg on your left side and a bus station on your right side.
If you walk on the Rheinsteig hiking trail, the routes from Petersberg to Geisberg takes you through Mirbesbach Valley, Siebengebirge. On the way from Mount Petersberg you cross the pedestrian bridge over the L331 country road and then climb onto Mount Geisberg.
