A new tale about a hermit, Mount Froschberg in the Siebengebirge, and frogs. Not so long ago, in a little town below the Siebengebirge, there lived a man who was very friendly, but also extremely pessimistic. He always feared that something might not be as it should be, and that something might go wrong.
“.. But over the hills where the seven dwarfs dwell, Snow White is still alive and well” the fairy tale reads. But where exactly is “over the hills”? The Brothers Grimm don’t reveal it.
The old legend of the treasure of the Rosenau comes here in a new version that includes the sassy maiden and her dragon. At the beginning of the 20th century, there was a hotel close to the ruin of the Rosenau. It was a nice house, run by a friendly landlord, in which the guests felt welcome.
Of course we know how the Monastery of Heisterbach was founded. Yet, in the Siebengebirge, almost every location has its legends, This traditional legend comes here in a free version.
