Siebengebirge hiking: Bad Honnef – Rommersdorf, a charming winegrower village, is a good trailhead to discover the Siebengebirge. Hiking trails through the valleys Annatal and Tretschbachtal take you through the southern, humid corner of the Siebengebirge.
A charming winegrower village
Our hike begins at the end of Bad Honnef-Rommersdorf. Enjoy your stay! Rommerdorf is a charming old winegrower village at the bottom of the Siebengebirge, with many well-preserved, lovingly maintained timber-framed houses from the 17th and 18th centuries. In other words, here you have a wonderful spot in the Rhineland.
From the tram station into the woods
The nearest tram station of the line 66 Bad Honnef – Siegburg is Am Spitzenbach. From there, first cross the pedestrian bridge over the B42 expressway, and enjoy the wonderful view of Mount Drachenfels and Mount Wolkenburg. Then, at the end of the bridge, turn right into An St. Göddert street towards Park Reitersdorf. Walk through the park to get to the main street Rhöndorfer Straße / Hauptstraße. Now cross it and bear left (direction Rhöndorf / Königswinter) for some meters until you reach Meßbeuel street. Walk along Meßbeul until you reach Frankenweg street, then turn right and follow Frankenweg for a short distance until you see Schaafhausen-Straße on the left. Now to go straight ahead, past the Schaafhausen Villa.
Möschbachstraße
From the right, Möschbachstraße joins Schaafhausen-Straße, a particularly beautiful street with numerous historic timbered-framed houses. Here you can already see Möschbach creek. It has its source in the Annatal and flows through Bad Honnef-Rommersdorf into the Rhine.
Now you are almost there. Just follow Schaafhausen-Straße to its very end, here a small asphalt path into the nature park begins. A few meters later you will see the entrance to the Annatal and the Römerquelle. If you walk along here, you are right in the middle of a humid, picturesque corner of the Siebengebirge.
